Here’s my rundown on our stay at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston!

Where is Margaritaville?

Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe | Houston is a beautiful waterfront property that is located on Lake Conroe.  It took about an hour’s drive to get there from our home in the Cypress area. If you’re traveling from central Houston, be prepared for a 1.5- 2 hour drive.

To give you a little more background, Lake Conroe is a beautiful lake in Montgomery, TX that sprawls over 22,000 acres! Fishing, boating, and water-sports are very popular!

This resort just opened in summer 2020 and has so much to offer guests!

Resort Suites

My husband and I were so impressed by how large our rooms were! This resort is all about luxury, as all accommodations start at 600 square feet! Margaritaville features 303 suites and 32 waterfront cottages. All suites have a furnished private balcony and separate bedroom/living room areas. We booked the King-Bed Guest Suite. As a family of 3, this suite gave us so much space and allowed a relaxing and comfortable stay. The suite was suited will all of the bells and whistles including USB charging outlets, resort-style shower, Keurig, and an LED bathroom mirror!

I do want to mention that there is a $39 daily resort fee. This fee covers:

  • High speed WIFI in guest suites and public spaces
  • Self-parking
  • Complimentary intra-resort transportation
  • Two complimentary bottles of water in your suite
  • Unlimited local telephone calls
  • Live entertainment, on select days only
  • Pool towel service
  • Golf bag handling and storage
  • Unlimited access to the following resort amenities

Amenities

Once you arrive at Margaritaville, there’s really no reason to leave the resort! They have 6 restaurants, 5 pools, a water park for kids, an 18-hole golf course, a retail store, a full-service spa, and state-of-the-art gym!

Pools

Luckily, the weather was very nice during our stay! We spent so much time soaking up the sun at the pools! The lazy river located near Lone Palm Pool Bar was my favorite! We floated along the pool while sipping on frozen margaritas! If that’s not paradise, I don’t know what is! If it’s a little cooler during your stay, they also have a beautiful heated infinity pool! Pools are open until 10 pm!

Our daughter just started walking, so we were also able to enjoy the Kids Splash Zone. There’s also 2 huge water slides for older kids to enjoy!

St. Somewhere Spa

I highly recommend making some time during your stay for St. Somewhere Spa! As a mama of a one-year-old, I don’t have to tell you that I needed a little relaxation.

St. Somewhere Spa offers a full-service menu for massage, facial and body treatments, nail services, waxing, hair styling, makeup and more. I opted for the Sunny Beach Bright Skin Facial. I left feeling refreshed and relaxed with glowing skin! Book your spa treatment here.

Boat Rentals

This was one of my favorite aspects of our trip! Making time to get out on Lake Conroe is a must during your stay! Einstein’s Surf & Boat Shop is onsite and offers a variety of boat, kayak, paddle board, and jet ski rentals.

Our family rented a Tri-Toon Boat. If you’re a newbie to boating like we were, you can also request a captain to drive your boat! This is highly recommended if you’re not confident with navigating a boat on your own. Captain Larry was awesome! He gave us an amazing tour of Lake Conroe and even gave us some driving tips!

Our two-hour cruise was breathtaking! Lake Conroe was so beautiful as we guided across the waters.

Rentals are available for $150/ hour (2 hour minimum). Captains are $50 per hour. Make your boat reservation here.

Dining

Okay, the amenities are great— How’s the food? Short answer- it’s GREAT! Margaritaville has 6 restaurants!

My favorites were LandShark Bar & Grill and Joe Merchant‘s Coffee & Provisions!

LandShark Bar & Grill is a lakefront restaurant that offers classic beach bar food. I was a big fan of the BBQ Burger. It was so good, I got it 2 days in a row. We really enjoyed sitting on their deck, so we could take in the panoramic views of Lake Conroe.

Also, as you might expect, be prepared to have some of the best margaritas you’ve ever had! Their restaurants and bars all feature a variety of tasty margaritas! Make sure you try/ The Perfect Margarita, Pink Cadillac, and the Watermelon Margarita!

Joe Merchant‘s Coffee & Provisions has a little bit of everything! Every morning went down and enjoyed their Starbucks coffee. Their delicious pizzas were perfect after a long day at the pool. Grab-and-go food and drinks are also available.

Final Thoughts

Margaritaville’s great amenities really took our trip to the next level. There was such a variety of activities for us to do— we almost couldn’t fit everything in! I was telling all of my family and friends about how much fun we had during our stay! Can’t wait for our next visit!
