A couple of our sweet friends were getting married in Cancun, and we knew we had to be there to support them! This would be my first trip to Mexico, and I was thrilled to be going on vacation after being quarantined for a year. I’d heard great things about Mexico, so I was excited to experience it for myself. After a bit of research, I realized that Cancun had no shortage of all-inclusive hotels, and there are options for every budget! After our trip, I was convinced that the all-inclusive route was the way to go. Finding the right match for you can be very overwhelming! For me, Paradisus Cancun was the perfect option for many reasons, use the checklist below when doing your own hotel research.
Location
After a two-hour flight (from Houston), we made it! We’d landed in Cancun! We booked transportation through Cancun Shuttle (highly recommended, btw) and made our way to our hotel! Thankfully, Paradisus Cancun is only about a twenty-minute drive from Cancun International Airport. We loved that this resort wasn’t in a remote location, and didn’t feel crowded or overpopulated. Paradisus Cancun is centrally located within the Hotel Zone nestled along the Caribbean Sea. There were a few restaurants within walking distance if you were interested in dining outside of the resort.
Is All-Inclusive Really All-Inclusive?
Yep, it sure is, sis! It’s all yours to enjoy with all-inclusive service, including meals at the 10 incredible onsite restaurants, unlimited drinks at all of the bars, access to onsite entertainment, and the state-of-the-art gym! (The Spa, Kanna Beach Club, and SAL Steakhouse were the only amenities that were not all-inclusive.)Yall, we were blown away by this experience! Since there were so many options for food and drinks, the all-inclusive service made it so convenient for us to enjoy meals. We didn’t have to research offsite restaurants or coordinate any travel to grab food. Don’t worry, if you want to dine in your room, 24-hour room service is available, and is also all-inclusive.
Food
Alright, if you’re like me, food is very important! So, if the food is all-inclusive, just how good is it? Well, everything we tried at Paradisus Cancun was delicious! The hotel’s restaurants feature a variety of flavors ranging from traditional Mexican to sushi. For three days, we enjoyed tons of fresh seafood and even some of my American faves like hot wings. Our favorite restaurant was Fuego, a poolside restaurant that featured Latino-inspired dishes like ceviche and grilled seabass.
All-Inclusive Upgrade
Many all-inclusive resorts offer an “upgrade” where guests can enjoy exclusive amenities at the hotel. Let me tell you, it is worth it! Paradisus Cancun offers The Reserve Upgrade, which provides access to exclusive private areas in the resort that guarantee superior and unique experiences, such as a private area on the beach and a private pool (with cabanas) for adults. The Reserve really brought our trip to the next level. I can’t speak enough about how exquisite service from the staff was! Every server, bartender, and waitstaff made us feel like rockstars! Perks of The Reserve also include a welcome cocktail upon arrival, a personal concierge, and access to premium brand liquors! Yeah, told ‘ya it was worth it!
Overall Experience
As soon as you step into the lobby of Paradisus Cancun, you’re transported to a tropical paradise and that feeling lingers throughout your entire stay! We were so impressed with the spacious rooms with breathtaking ocean views.
We spent a lot of time at the adults-only pool, where we hung out in luxurious cabanas and sipped on (ALOT of ) margaritas. The hotel was also very clean. As we are still in the COVID-19 pandemic, hotel staff were constantly cleaning surfaces and were required to wear masks. The hotel also provided onsite COVID testing, which made us feel very safe while staying there. Overall, Paradisus Cancun deserves a 10/10! We can’t wait to visit with them again!
