Y’all know ya girl loves a cocktail! I love checking out new places and there’s no shortage of bars and breweries, here in Houston. No matter what your vibe is or where you live, there’s a place for you! Here’s a roundup of my current favorite bars and hangouts in a few Houston neighborhoods.
Heights
Two words – Steak Night. Make your way to Wicklow Heights on Wednesday nights for the best Steak Night! This special includes 1/2 off bottles of wine and a variety of steak options. You’ll also enjoy their cute and IG worthy patio, while you’re there!
If you need to get your fix for tacos and margaritas, head over to Eight Row Flint. This place has amazing tacos and great cocktails. Check out their happy hour for $6.50 cocktails.
If you’re trying to do some day drinking, Heights Beir Garten should be your first stop! This bar has an amazing beer selection and yummy food! Let’s not forget it’s huge patio for outdoor seating, which is suitable for anything this crazy Houston weather brings!
Washington Ave
The Sporting Club has become my favorite new bar on Washington Ave. This place has an upscale, yet still casual vibe. They have a sprawling 3,000 foot patio with a retractable roof. I’d recommend checking out their brunch menu!
Right next door to the Sporting Club, you’ll find The Sugar Room. Don’t be alarmed at first this “bar” is disguised as a dessert shop. Upon entry, take a right and walk through a secret corridor, and you’ll find a chic and intimate bar! This place will make you feel super exclusive! Perfect for a date night or a night out with the girls!
Midtown/ Montrose
The Present Company is probably the most Instagram- worthy bar that Houston has to offer! Everywhere you turn in this 2-story bar, there’s a cute moment for you to capture for your social media. We love the Present Company’s awesome drinks including their White Claw and La Croix cocktails.
Calling all beer lovers! Make your way to Holman Draft Hall. This chic, yet comfortable bar has more than 100 beers on draft! You can enjoy bar bites while hanging out on their spacious patio.
Downtown/ Eado
Social Beer Garden is our go-to bar these days! Come here for a chill vibe, great music, and an awesome beer selection. There’s also a great patio with hammocks and swing chairs. Not to mention a few murals, where you can your perfect H-Town pictures! They also have food trucks, my favorite is Twisted Cheese — can’t go wrong with a Brisket Grilled Cheese!
