I could literally eat tacos every day of the week! Houston is a hotspot for a variety of tacos from traditional, street, breakfast, etc. Here’s my list of my favorite taco spots in Houston, perfect for any mood!
Birria Tacos
I’ve recently been introduced to birria tacos, and let me tell you, I’m hooked! BLK MKT Birra has two food trucks here in Houston that you do not want to miss. My favorite menu item: Queso Tacos and Super Quesadilla.
Tacos with a Twist
Velvet Taco is a staple here in Houston and it doesn’t disappoint. Their menu is full of funky and nontraditional tasty tacos. All of their tacos are made with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. My favorite menu items: Grilled Flank Steak, Slow Roasted Brisket, and Buffalo Chicken.
Traditional with a Flare
I’m always in the mood for Torchy’s Tacos. They’ve got some damn good tacos! They have multiple locations throughout Houston and have become my ALL-TIME favorite tacos. Beyond tacos, be sure to order a margarita and the queso dip! My favorite menu items: Trailer Park (Make it Trashy), Chicken Fajita, and Crossroads.

Make Taco Stand your permanent stop for street tacos! Taco Stand offers authentic Mexican tacos with a focus on fresh ingredients and convenience. No time to sit and eat? They have a drive-thru! They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they serve a variety of burritos, tortas, and more! My Favorite menu items: Carne Asada Tacos.
